A plot hole is a gap or inconsistency in the plot of a story that contradicts previous statements. Plot holes can be small, large (plot chasms), or so huge that they can tear apart a story (plot canyons).

Examples of Plot Holes Edit

  • The author constantly stresses that a certain magical act takes dozens of spellcasters cooperating, but then one inexperienced spellcaster does it. (Chasm)
  • A character knows nothing about a certain place or object, but then suddenly knows all about it when the occasion demands it.
