The plot is the sequence of events that makes up the story. Plots are usually divided into three parts; the beginning, middle, and end.

  • The beginning usually introduces the characters and setting, and then sets the plot in motion.
  • The middle allows for more conflict and development, and brings the heroes closer to their goal.
  • The end is usually home to the climax, and is where all or most of the loose ends will be tied up.

Some plots can be straightforward and predictable, but others can be complex and unpredictable. An author should try their best to avoid a cliche plot.
